News Desk -- 10th International Symposium on Spanish Keyboard Music “Diego Fernández” (FIMTE) 2010
September 2, 2010 -- FIMTE 2010 -- 10th International “Diego Fernández”Symposium on Spanish Keyboard Music (FIMTE). Two days of lectures, concerts, dancing and the occasional glass of wine, in sunny Spain, and in October, when most of us Nord Americanos can really use a little more sunshine. Not to mention the music, wine and dancing. This year's topic is Keyboard Music and Instruments in the Spanish Empire (16th - 17th centuries) and the focus is on Antonio de Cabezón. It will be held in Parador de Mojácar, Almería, Spain, on October 8 and 9, 2010. Chairs: John Koster (National Music Museum, Vermillion, USA ), Francesco Nocerino, (Naturalmente Musica, Naples, Italy) and Luisa Morales (FIMTE, Almería, Spain). Official languages, English and Spanish.

Following the symposium, FIMTE will host excursions to the collections of Spanish keyboard instruments housed at the Burgos cathedral, Castrillo de Matajudíos, Villasandino, Santoyo (Palencia), Convento de Santa Clara, Tordesillas (Valladolid) and the Fundación Joaquín Díaz, Urueña (Valladolid), including a visit to Antonio de Cabezón’s hometown.
