Flemish Double Manual Harpsichord "Aafke", Ruckers-style grand ravelment
similar to Handel's instrument; lavishly decorated in the Flemish style
with red faux marble exterior, soundboard painting and papers, turned
stand in fumed oak. Bone keys with ebony sharps. 56 + 1 notes, GG to d''',
2 x 8' plus 4' and buff, transposing (A = 415 or 440). Value -- $30,000.
Concert rental fee $650 – includes delivery, two tunings,
attendance at the performance and a touch-up tuning at intermission, and
removal after the performance. Additional tunings for rehearsal are charged
at $75 each, additional tunings for performances at $100 each (includes
attendance and tuning at intermission), additional moves at $75.00. GST
is extra
Long-term rental is $650 for the first month (includes pick and
delivery charges, set-up and two tunings, mileage charges apply out of
the Greater Toronto area), subsequent months are $400. GST is extra.
Studio rental $10.00/hour -- practice time in our shop is available
when Aafke is not otherwise engaged. Ideal for players or singers preparing
for concerts, competitions, auditions or examinations. Call ahead to book
so that we can make sure she is set up and tuned and that we are not operating
the table saw while you are trying to play.
