Model Silbermann |
Kurt Sperrhake of Passau/Bayern (West) Germany, made thousands of harpsichords and clavichords starting in 1948and continuing into the 1970's. The spinets were quite popular in North America, and they are also quite durable , so we come across them often. There were two models, both single 8' with buff and having a compass of C to f''' (54 notes):
This schedule will work for either of them, although obviously, the wires will need to be longer for the Silbermann. Where two sizes are given, we have found instruments which seem to have original strings that have one size, some the other, but since these instruments are strung in steel wire, either size will work.
