Albarda spinet and similar

Stringing schedule for a spinet by Jan Albarda (Ontario) 1972 after typical late 17th century English bentside spinets such as Player, Haworth, Cawton Aston and similar. This instrument, numbered 721, was built as a personal instrument for Dr. Albarda's daughter Karen 'who started it all'.

  • Compass BB - f''' (56 notes = 4 2/3 octaves).
  • Stringing: Single-strung in steel, phosphor bronze and brass (we recommend replacing the phosphor bronze with brass and that is what is used in this schedule).

Normal pitch is A=440, modern pitch, but it can be tuned to baroque (A=415) or anywhere in between. We recommend starting the change at least a week before you need it to ensure that it will be stable for your performance or recording.
