CLAVIERS BAROQUES' Bermudo clavichord

Building the Bermudo clavichord...

That's about as far as we'll go today (May 15, 2001). We've glued up the flitches (the narrow strips that make up the soundboard) -- with hide glue, of course -- and cut the rose hole. The glue is set but the joints have swollen from the moisture in the glue. We'll let them sit overnight to let the swelling go down before we continue preparing the soundboard . Come back tomorrow or the next day and we'll continue building the Bermudo clavichord.
